Sponsorship Scheme
About the Scheme

The Scheme is for all children of the Home. No individual child will be matched. The minimum sponsorship fee is $90 per month or $1,080 per year, at least one year commitment. Sponsors will be invited to join the Sponsor’s Functions. The Scheme's name, "Lok-lok" & "Yiu-yiu", meaning "happiness" in Chinese, is created by the Home's children to represent that all the children live happily under the care and support of the Home.

The fund raised will be designated for providing accommodation, care, daily necessities, educational support, counseling and development opportunities for children in adversity (i.e. who cannot receive adequate family care, have special needs and come from grassroots family) as well as supporting the Home's service operation and development, with a mission to develop their potentials and facilitate them to live a life of fullness.

Big Big Girl’s Dream Fulfilled Journey

“I grew up without a real home, and was living in foster care until age 6. I and my elder brother were then referred to the Home until 18 years old. My days living in the Home was joyful. All the experiences made my childhood far more enriching than my peers’,” happily said the Home's old girl Man.

Thanks for the support from all walks of life, theme park trip was arranged every year. Man even had the opportunity to enjoy helicopter ride, volunteer in Guangxi, and perform gymnastics at the Scheme’s kick-off event! “When I dreamed of learning piano, house mother and social worker just made it happen,” Man recalls. The Home's workers always encouraged multifaceted experiences to unlock children’s potential.

When she grew as the “big sister”, Man helped take care of younger ones in the Home, and developing independent living skills was her greatest takeaway from the Home. After discharge and graduation from secondary school, she worked as a school clerk and teaching assistant while pursuing her associate and bachelor’s degrees, as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Education step by step. Man becomes a teacher and loves travelling in her spare time, just like the Home’s social worker who shared travel stories and souvenirs with her - living as a Big Big Girl with dreams fulfilled.
