The Mandatory Reporting of Child Abuse Ordinance (the Ordinance), which will come into effect on January 20, 2026, will affect 25 categories of professionals across social welfare, education, and healthcare sectors in Hong Kong. The Home in collaboration with Professional Practice and Assessment Centre, Department of Applied Social Sciences at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, organized a forum "The Law, The Duty, The Action: Inter-professional Practice under the Mandatory Reporting of Child Abuse Ordinance - 'Legal Interpretation × Practical Wisdom × Implementation Preparation on September 30, 2025. It aimed to help various sectors prepare for the implementation of the Ordinance. Over a thousand professionals from related fields attended.

The Home invited Mr Chris SUN, JP, Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr HO Kai-ming, JP, Under Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Legislative Council Members, academics, frontline professionals, and management personnel who served as keynote speakers and sharing guests.
