Clinical Psychological Service

Service Objectives

To render psychological assessment and intervention to the service users, their families and the community. The service provides consultations and training to the staff on mental health issues and service coordination and support in critical incidents. Moreover, the service provides psychoeducation to service users and general public.

 

Service Target

  • Service users and staff of St. Christopher’s Home (Internal Service)
  • Children or adolescents and their parents, as well as the community or schools or other organizations (External Service)

 

Service Content

  • Individualized/group psychological assessment, intervention and counseling
  • Provide psychological assessment, intervention and counselling to service users of St. Christopher’s Home, and children and adolescents with special education needs or emotional/behavior problems, and make referrals.
  • Training talks and workshops
    • Provide talks and training workshops to raise work-related skills and facilitate awareness on mental health, including (but not limited to) the topics below:
    • Understanding and managing children and adolescents with emotional/ behavioral problems
    • Understanding and managing childhood trauma
    • Understanding and managing children with special educational needs
    • Emotion regulation strategies for children and adolescents
    • Trauma informed care: Concepts and application
    • Evidence based parenting strategies
    • Clinical Psychological Support Services for Children Residential Services
    • Consultation service
